SERVICES FOR OLD FILMS, NEGATIVES AND SLIDES

We offer a specialist service for old and out-of-date films, perhaps found in old cameras or given to you by friends or relatives. We can scan almost any format of negative, slide, or photographic print, and restore old deteriorated images for printing or CD storage.

The films we receive have usually not been made for many years and require different handling to those used today. Film undergoes highly specialised treatments simply unavailable elsewhere. We offer a professional and expert service to help recover your lost memories - you can be assured that our years of experience will help get the best results possible from your old film, slides, negatives or photographs.

We have recovered good images from film dating back as far as the 1920’s, and recently a stunning set of pre-war colour photographs from a roll of Dufaycolor film -
see our Gallery page for an example.

We accept film processing orders from all over the world.

Latest happenings at Process C-22

**NEWS UPDATE 2011-12**
We STILL PROCESS K-14 Kodachrome films, such as Kodachrome 25, 64, 200 and K40 in 35mm and 8mm cine formats. These CANNOT presently be colour-processed, as the last Kodachrome laboratory closed in December 2010. Kodachrome is extremely difficult to gain reasonable images from, and our process (for black and white slides) will be unique.
We are still hoping to process in colour one day, but only time will tell if
this will even be possible. Experiments are still being planned...!

In the meantime get it done with us in black/white, or keep your
film permanently frozen inside the black pot.
A webpage devoted to Kodachrome is coming soon.

**NEWS UPDATE JANUARY 2010**
SPECIAL OFFER

We can always do a really great job with old negatives, prints and slides.
Restoration of colour and age-deterioration is something we do every day,
faded slides and oddly-sized grubby old negatives usually come out really well.
To this end we're currently running a very special offer:

Place an order of 100+ images (any mix of negatives, prints, slides or even digital memory cards if you need to bulk out the numbers!) to be scanned and put onto a CD, and pay just £1 per image.

This includes basic general restoration (nothing major) as well as P&P. Turnaround
time is usually 4-6 weeks. No further discounts can be applied to this offer.
Just send your order to our address above, quoting "SCAN OFFER", and we'll do the rest!
Read more about this offer here.

**NEWS UPDATE OCTOBER 2008**
We've had to increase our prices for the majority of services (the first time since 2004)
due to recent massive increases in overheads - such as the energy prices that we've all
had to face. The website has been updated, and the prices come into immediate effect.

**NEWS UPDATE FEBRUARY 2008**
Our office has moved!

Our new address and contact details have now been updated throughout the website.
We are still very busy with current orders after an extremely hectic Christmas period. The change will not affect our current Customers as we already have redirections in place, but please do note down our new details and amend your records accordingly. Thanks!

**NEWS UPDATE OCTOBER 2007**
Most of what we do involves the archival permanence of the photographic image, recovering and restoring in order to keep them alive for future generations.
Modern Digital Photography and Storage Media are conspicuous by their short shelf-life. We have CDs here less than a decade old that are already showing signs of decay. Photographic prints, negatives and slides do fade over time but generally last for 30-50 years, over 100 years if well processed and stored. Digital images on memory cards and CDs may be totally inaccessible as soon as the next major technological shift. Data recovery for fairly recent 5.25in floppy disks is already a problem for many firms.
We've researched this issue, and can now supply the best available archival storage for your photographs. Delkin eFilm Archival Gold is a type of CD-R and DVD-R that promises to last for up to 300 years, in accelerated ageing tests.

Archival Gold 300-year CD storage Archival Gold 100-year DVD, with 'Scratch Armour'

To have your photographs stored onto an Archival Gold disc, just add £10 to the total order value and ask for "Archival Gold CD" when placing an order with us.
(You can still have your images stored on an ordinary CD for £3, as advertised on our price lists, but we recommend making a new copy once every 3 years, and converting to the popular image format of the time.)
The DVD Scratch Armour discs are reserved for large orders or high-resolution scans.

**NEWS UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2007**
We find ourselves handling more modern film types, as everyone else
trudges towards digital-only services. Examples of services we can offer are:

  • C-41 Push/Pull Service: From -2 to +5 stops.
(This may not be recommended, but that doesn't mean we can't do it if we have to!)
  • Scanning to CD of more obscure formats such as 126 and 110 film.
  • Full services for recently-used 620 and 127 film, and help finding new rolls.
  • Colour and B/W Infra-red film and occasionally cross-process requests.
  • Help with Lomography requirements, and processing for artistic effects.
(We can't handle stereo or 3D films yet though, we don't have the special equipment.)
  • Scanning or reprinting any type or age of negative, mounted or unmounted slide.
(We can make a CD of all your slides, including named images and folders to your specifications)
  • Dropped a roll of film in a puddle? Film or photographs damaged by a house fire?
Has a Photo Lab accidentally ruined your film? Get in touch, we can help.

(Scans or prints will cost more, please ask for details)

**NEWS UPDATE 2006**
We can now handle the recently discontinued Agfa Scala film.
Agfa ceased official processing in 2005, and we can now offer a rescue service
to those with exposed rolls of Scala now unable to use the old commercial facilities.
However, we can't honour pre-paid processing envelopes.
See our Scala Processing page for further details.

**NEWS UPDATE 2005**
We have acquired a quantity of processing packs for the
discontinued Polaroid Instant Slide 35mm system. We should now be
able to handle any Polaroid instant 35mm film. These are characterised by
a white cassette and blue label, with the Polaroid logo.
